ROGER AND ME

USA 1989  90 mins.    Michael Moore (Bowling for Columbine) traces the decline of his home town, Flint, Michigan after General Motors closes plants laying off thousands of workers. The action spans 3 years as Moore tracks down the GM chairman in order to confront him with the human consequences of corporate policy. Moore terms it a ‘docucomedy’, a political sketch rather than a measured analysis, deploying humour and exaggeration to make its point.
